Port ERP System

The development goal of a contemporary port ERP system is to fully integrate people flows, goods flows, commerce flows, capital flows, work flows, knowledge flows and information flows. Up to now we have established a functionally comprehensive port ERP system. Its core subsystems are for enterprise ports, customer relationship management, business management, production management, finance management, HR management and decision-making support. Its auxiliary subsystems are for inventory management, purchase management, supplier management, knowledge management, project management, PLC data collection and e-commerce. It effectively consolidates corporate resources, supports the core operations and matching operational services of the port, standardizes operation processes, enhances operation control, lower operating costs, and improves port service quality and customer satisfaction.

System Functions

  1. Establish a Port Information System (EIS) to ensure efficient service and operation, enhance management and control, assist in rapid response, and strengthen the efficient port operation mechanism.
  2. Establish a port Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure efficient and high-quality service, build a first-class port, and improve the overall competitiveness of enterprise.
  3. Establish a Purchase Management (PO), Inventory Management (INV) and Equipment Management System (EAM), enhance standard management and control of purchase activities, and realize coordination with operations relating to equipment and materials.
  4. Establish a Port Operations Management (SO) system and Production Information Management (PIM) system to support the core operations and matching services of the port, standardize operation processes, and enhance operations control and scheduling.
  5. Establish a Port Finance Management (FIN) system to standardize the finance system and finance management, support port operations settlement management, enhance finance control, and reduce enterprise operation costs.
  6. Establish a Port Decision-making Support (BI) system to effectively assist in operations analysis and decision-making management, improve enterprise management level and overall competitiveness of the port.
  7. “Port Digitalization” – guided by modern management ideas, using digital tools to optimize and consolidate materials flows, capital flows and information flows; dynamically control the whole process and whole system of the port production and operation activities; build an advanced, practical and efficient information system to improve the port’s core competitiveness and sustainable development capability.

System Characteristics

  1. This system adopts the internationally advanced J2EE technology, so it technically ensures its advancement, openness, extensibility, safety, stability, practicality and ease of use.
  2. This system adopts the MVC 3-layer framework autonomously developed by KH. This framework is based on JAVA language and uses the popular MVC design concept. It has already been successfully deployed in several medium- and large-scale projects and has received good feedback from customers. It provides rich secondary development interfaces, simplifies development work and simultaneously supports multiple database systems.
  3. It provides rich internal and external interfaces for seamless connection with third-party institutions (e.g. customs authorities, inspection and quarantine authorities, border inspection authorities, shipping agencies, etc.) and with third-party software to effectively consolidate information and share resources.
  4. General query components are used throughout the whole system to provide easy operations and rich functions. User may self-define various means of query and list display. Meanwhile, it also supports export in such formats as Excel, Word, etc.
  5. This system provides rich reporting functions, supports various report formats and forms, e.g. basic tables, pie graphs, histograms, curves, and supports export in such formats as Excel, Word, PDF, pictures, etc.
