Project Outline
KH Civil Gas Cylinder (LPG) Dynamic Quality and Safety Regulation System uses such technologies as laser label printing technology, automatic identification technology, computer technology, microelectronics technology, wireless communication technology, automatic control, etc. for tracking and control of the circulation of civil gas cylinders. Using an optical fiber laser label printer to engrave a bar code (user may choose a 1D bar code or a 2D bar code) in combination with a handheld reader for identification (subsequent code reading will not be affected by either external use environment or subsequent quenching) before uploading identification information to the central database. The whole process involves every stage of gas cylinder management, thus providing each gas cylinder with an “ID” for lifelong dynamic tracking and a scientific and reasonable civil gas cylinder safety monitoring system. It technically solves problems that have been troubling civil gas producers for a long time, e.g. safety and counterfeiting, assets loss and management, etc.
The system collects and registers field operation data for such process steps as gas cylinder receiving and issuing, pre-charging check, recharging records, after-charging double check, periodic test, etc. It provides alarms and displays for abnormal and damaged gas cylinders. This is an automated information system for gas cylinder safety management and thoroughly eliminates the traditional low-level and unsafe visual identification and manual recording operations.
Project Background
Civil gases, including LPG, are widely used in daily life. However, many problems exist in the LPG retail/wholesale market. LPG is a flammable, explosive and toxic gas. So, reasonable use and management of LPG cylinders concerns the life and property safety of people. Improper handling might cause serious irrecoverable losses of life and property. The property loss and safety of the cylindered civil gas market has already attracted significant attention from relevant governmental organs.
In order to standardize the civil gas cylinder production and charging markets, China has launched a series of measures, including placing gas cylinders into the trusteeship of civil gas producers for uniform inspection, improving entry threshold and eliminating unlicensed operations, strict workflow management, enhancing safety management, etc. Such measures undoubtedly provide benefits for standardizing the market, but human factors take up a large proportion of management activities.
Pressing issues are how to use high-tech tools to enhance market safety and supply management, reduce operating cost, effectively execute various measures and enhance management.
