“Sea, all water, receives all rivers”, says the motto of Sichuan University. On Sep. 29th, 2016, Sichuan University embraced its 120th anniversary. The KHNT Institute landed ¥100-million donation to support its education and research field.
Sichuan University is one of China’s top universities, which comprises three former national universities: the former Sichuan University, the former Chengdu University of Science and Technology, and the former West China University of Medical Sciences. In 1994 and 2000, the three universities joint together as Sichuan University. It has exhibited great strength in research and made remarkable achievements over the years. In the field of Science and Technology, Sichuan University has won 41 awards in three major national award categories for science and technology since 2005. In 2016, the research funding of the university increased to 1.86 billion RMB, the number of papers published ranked the 5th and the number of SCI papers ranked the 6th in China. SCU actively promoted both national and regional socioeconomic development, and is constantly building its capacity to serve the community and the society.
In the last 120 years, said Xie Heping, the Principal of SCU, the university has been writing a marvelous inerasable chapter with its spirit in the book of China modern higher education history.
Looking ahead, SCU will go for the World’s First-Class University, build up the distinctive modern education & research system, and as well make itself the Model University.
